At first, I didn't think I would of caught anything, because that day, nobody caught anything yet. Then on my 3rd cast, I thought I got stuck. So I lifted up my rod to try and get loose, but then it kept pulling my line out. Even thought my drag was tight. At that moment I knew I caught something, and a little crowd grew. After a few minutes, I reeled it up to the shore. Then while people trying to net it, it kept on swimming away, I was about to tighten up my drag but then they all said to take my time and just let it get tired.
Knowing they all probably fished way longer then me. I took there advice. When it went far back into the water, it swam all the way to my left. So I ran across the rocks, reeling it in, trying to not let it get loose. I was already sweating and breathing hard. But then finally a fisherman netted it for me, I thanked him..and a lot of people congratulated me. And thats my biggest fish , so far.. 28 lbs and 38 inches, the biggest salmon I've seen caught.
