We were fishing for northern’s in a large weed bed one rainy afternoon in early June when I tuned and saw Spencer fighting this smallmouth. After a couple of 6 foot jumps and a few more acrobatics, Spencer worked him close to the boat and we netted him. After a few quick pictures we sent him on his way and Spencer, the bass-master, Ward declared that the only bait he would use for the rest of the trip would be the Dressed Aglia with a size 4 Hot Firetiger blade and a yellow tail. What a thrill for a 12 year old on his first fishing trip to Canada.
