I had been catching some NICE hybrid bluegills on my XD spinner and after a while the action began to slow a little bit. I decided to down-size a little to see if I could get the more finicky ones to hit, so I switched to my fly rod and the Mepps #00 Black Fury. On the 3rd cast, I felt a POWERFUL thump that I knew couldn't be another bluegill. After about a 15 minute battle, this long channel catfish came to net.
You gotta love Mepps! You just never know what's gonna smack one!
