A cold day at the end of January in WNY we decided to head to Burt Dam and wet (or freeze) a couple lines. After a few hours of casting spoons and a real nice 7lb 3oz. male steelie my buddy John caught, I decided to give the spinner a shot. Tied on the trusty #3 blade silver dressed Mepps Aglia. On the 3rd cast this chunky hen just crushed my bait. She made one real nice run to the bottom of a deep hole and after a couple minutess or so I brought her upstairs. Johnny netted her (THANKS) and no sooner did the spinner come out! We had her in though, snapped a few pics, weighed her then put her back, as always. My first brownie and it was on a Mepps! O- Yeah!!
