It was 6:30 on opening morning and my buddies and I were just trying to keep the ice off of our line and eyelets having had no luck up to that point. I made a long cast just beyond a tree. My line was stuck on a branch and by the time I flipped it loose, this big brown was on! She didn't put up a huge fight because the water was frigid but it was a great fish! Not the prettiest thing, but I'll take it for my first of the year and season!
