It was a windless afternoon with light cloud cover and the Mersey was reasonably clear and there were a few fish rising in several areas on the river. After several casts, just ahead of a fish rise I managed a hookup and landed this nice plump Brown Trout on my ever reliable Mepps #00 Yellow Dot Black Fury spinner, this was just one of several Browns caught and released for the day and Mepps always makes it a little better.
