Went to Canada for some serious pike fishing. Heard from some fellow fisherman that red and white was working really well so I decided to go with the #5 Mepps dressed Aglia. Caught five smaller pike before this monster hit...10' from the boat. The water was a little dirty and my spinner just started to come into view. Mentally, I was getting ready for the next cast when suddenly out of the dark water this submarine opens its mouth and turns sidesways to make the kill. Saw the whole hit, and I will never forget it for as long as I live. It will be one of the most memorable hits of my life. I know instantly she was a trophy, and it actually is my personal best pike to date. 42" about 22lbs. Hopefully Mepps will help me beat our family record pike held by my wife at 44" and 28lbs....Thanks Mepps, you always seem to be one of the most consistent lures in my tackle box!!!
