Mepps Aglia style in-line spinners are my favorite Bowfin lure for the summer months. This particular Bowfin crushed a Mepps LongCast moments after I placed it in the main channel ahead of an upstream boulder. The lure hit the water, sank two feet, and then the water exploded as the fish grabbed the lure and made its first run and its first jump. From a distance of about 40 yards, the strike looked as if someone had thrown a bowling ball into the river. I fish Mepps Aglia spinners a variety of ways to catch Bowfin, and the lures never fail.
