Got up early today to go fishing on the South Branch of the Raritan River. On second cast caught a nice 17.5" Rainbow Trout on a Mepps XD Gold spinner. Then went quiet for a while. Moved downstream to the downstream side of an over turned tree/branches. Let the Mepps XD sink for a second or two then retrieved as it drifted under the branches. This technique landed me a 17" brown and two 18" Rainbows, one of which I kept for dinner and which weighed 2.5". Great day fishing with Mepps XD lures.
