I caught this beautiful resident brown trout in a tributary to the Grand River. My brother and I set out to get him into his first salmon, but unfortunately it was a very long and unproductive day. Fortunately I didn't get completely skunked, however I would've really loved to see my brother catch something. After 11+ hours of hard fishing, he really deserved one.
This brown trout was one of 3 fish I landed successfully. The other two fish were small brook trout in the 9-11" range. All were caught on assorted Mepps spinners in sizes 2 or 3. In my opinion, there is no fish more beautiful than a fall-time trout
