I was fishing in a canoe on the mouth of Potato Lake with my brother. He was using a hook with skirt nothing special, he was catching fish after fish after fish, I did not catch one thing until I tossed out my line into a weed bed. It felt like I had a hit, but, I couldn't tell so I reeled in and saw a bunch of weeds. Then I saw the belly of a northern, that's when he started to fight. He went beneath the canoe and around the sides. My brother finally netted him, that's when we headed back home.
