My first Aglia lure and I had a short relationship, drawn out only in the time it spent waiting on that hardware store shelf for me to buy it. Once it hit water, dancing and flashing its way through the incoming tide, it didn't take long for the first of a pair of beautiful Cohos to go to work at it - and these salmon had no mercy for pretty lures. By the time the second fish was landed (about six casts, all told), two of the hooks were bent in odd directions and the midshaft had an appreciable curve where the weighty ladies slammed home.
I spent more time cleaning fish than catching fish, and I'll be sure to buy two Aglias, next time I'm passing through town.
