Caught in the middle of the day in the pouring rain with only one foot of water left as before pulling the lure up out of the water at the boat. We were fishing basically for smallmouth and largemouth bass, and, after catching it on 8lb test and getting the fish on board we weren't quite sure what it was because it looked like a pike. There's no pike in Blue Marsh. After pulling out our fish book, upon more study of the fish, we came to the conclusion that it was a Tiger Musky based on all it's markings. The crazy part of this story is there also is no Tiger musky in the lake. After measuring it and weighing it and taking multiple photos and releasing the fish we contacted the fish commission in Harrisburg to ask if they had put Tiger musky in the lake and were told no. Also at that time, we were told that it was too bad that we didn't get everything documented better with pictures of the fish on a scale and measurements that it would of been the STATE RECORD for Tiger musky. Oh well... also the amazing part of that day was not only did I catch that fish on the Mepps lure, but, prior to catching the fish with the same lure I caught a 3 1/2 lb Walleye, also 2 smallmouth that ranged between 3-4 lbs and 3 largemouth and after, I caught the Tiger musky and 1 prior. All I can say is I've caught every species basically in PA of fish on that same style lure, bigger and smaller sizes just an amazing lure!
