First day of the annual Lake of the Woods trip. Had already limited on walleye. Pulled into the bay that we always start at when casting for northern. Put on the Syclops and started tossing and cranking. First 10 or 15 casts, not even a follow. Then WHAM! 41 inches of fun grabbed ahold of my lure! This happened to be about 50' away from the point I caught my previous best of a 40" northern almost exactly 10 years before!
