Was casting the shore line for small mouth with a relatively small spinning outfit when this northern showed up. Was using a 6 1/2 ft. pole and 6# test line and no leader (of course). Took about 20 minutes to land. Never got a weight as he pretty much swallowed the spinner. After pictures, needed to get him back in the water. Some years before 2016, I caught a 30" northern on the same lure on the same lake. It is my go to lure. I catch smallies and northern on this bait. Would not go to Ontario without them.
