This is not the biggest smallie I have ever caught but it was a game changer for me, I am no stranger to the Mepps spinner for it has been my go to trout spinner for over 20 years, but I have never tried it for bass. This particular day I was fishing for small mouth in the New River and the bite just was not on. I had thrown everything in my box then I realized I had my spinner box with me and decided to tie on a #3 silver Mepps… first cast, Bam this little beauty. By the end of the day I had caught roughly 10 small mouth now I never go to the river without a couple Mepps...
