After scouting a few shallows bays in the Southerly end of Lake Michigamme for northern pike via a kayak, it was time to start casting and discover what may be lurking in the weed beds. It only took a few casts to connect with this healthy and aggressive northern pike. The lure must have landed very close to where the fish was staging at that moment because the water immediately boiled into a froth as it struck for the hook up. Always be prepared for a take when casting your Mepps spinner!
