While fishing a small bay with grass in front of a shore of rock boulders I threw my Mepps spinner toward the rocks in an opening of the grass. I closed the reel's bale before the lure hit the water and started my retrieve when the lure hit the water. The northern took the lure and ran. I set the hook and the battle was on. I caught twenty (20) or more northerns during our trip. The #3 Gold Mepps with a white tail is my GOTO lure.
