Bucktail jigs are extremely versatile. They can be used in rivers and lakes, both shallow and deep water. For years, we have been asked by our smallmouth, largemouth & walleye Prostaff to come out with a bucktail jig for their fisheries. After two years of testing and research we offer the new Mepps® Bucktail Jig. Featuring the perfect balance of hand-tied bucktail & flashabou, with the flashabou being more pronounced in the middle to create more flash. These jigs use a chip resistant paint and a durable VMC hook. There isn’t a bucktail jig on the market with a fuller tail or larger profile than the Mepps® Bucktail Jig.
Fish Caught: Bass, Smallmouth - Pike, Northern - Walleye
On this Northwest Ontario Lake practically all of the fish caught for two days was on this ¼ oz brown over orange jig. A 38" pike, a personal best 30" walleye and two trophy smallies. Plus countless walleyes and smallmouths. At the end of two days a pike ruined what remained of this hair jig and I mourned that I didn't have an extra jig. This is a true multi-species lure. I'm returning next year and you know what I'm going back with.Fish Caught: Musky
I originally purchased this jig to add to my ice fishing arsenal looking to land some larger Walleye. After it arrived in the mail I was off to the ice to see what it would produce. I tipped the hook with a small minnow and set it off down the hole to work its' magic. For the most part I let the hair of the jig and the minnow do all the work, only giving it small jigs every now and then. Before long, I landed a fish. I could tell it was a big fish, but only until I got it out of the hole could I fully appreciate the beauty of a 30 inch Musky. Mepps is one of only brands of lures that I use and the results speak for themselves.Write a product testimonial and share your fishing experiences with other customers.
