Mepps lures in size #00 or #0 are perfect for panfish (bluegills sunfish) and small stream trout. They are very light, however, and require a nimble rod, equipped with a light action reel spooled with light line; nothing heavier than six-pound-test. Two-pound-test to four-pound-test is better. Size #1 Mepps are perfect for larger stream trout and large bluegills, sunfish and crappies. #1 Mepps spinners are ideal for teaching youngsters the basics of spinner fishing, as they are heavy enough to cast well with light tackle, yet they are small enough to catch a wide variety of fish.
Mepps lures in sizes #2 & #3 are perfect for both largemouth and smallmouth bass. Largemouth bass prefer a #3 spinner. Size #2 lures are also excellent for walleye. Mepps #3 spinners are ideal for large trout, steelhead and coho salmon.

Got to a river right along the Sonora Pass and pulled out a See Best plain teble hook spinner from the Grab Bag and within the first 30 minutes of fishing, I caught two beautiful rainbow trout. Mepps has made their lures and deals the best money can buy again. I bought one of these specials for my birthday and wow! These lures are really cheap (I mean way, way, way marked down) and yet are still as great as their counterparts. I guess I should have expected that from Mepps. It had to have been like 3 am and I was dead tired. I was walking down the trail at dusk it was a clammy morning. I was sooo sick of fishin and then I grabbed my grab bag fulll of all these goodies.
