The new Mepps Little Wolf is for any angler who appreciates the handcrafted quality of yesterday and the vibrant fish-attracting colors of today.
It's a rugged, solid brass spoon that will not rust or tarnish like many other ordinary spoons. Its genuine silver-plating produces one bright white flash after another as it is pulled through the water, and its reverse-curve design features ten distinct highly-reflective surfaces that disburse light equally in all directions.
All Little Wolf's feature a perfect blend of vinyl and acrylic oven-baked finishes with a contrasting logo for maximum visibility and durability. Mepps proprietary finishes are far more chip- resistant than similar finishes on similar products.
As if this wasn't enough, all Mepps Little Wolves have a razor-sharp, perfectly honed hook with high-visibility strike-attractor tube. Together, these entice more fish to strike while yielding a higher hooking percentage. Every Little Wolf is perfectly balanced to maintain the same intense side-to-side wobbling action at all retrieval speeds. It doesn't stall when you stop your retrieve. Instead, it maintains its action as it falls.
The 1/8 oz. Mepps Little Wolf is perfect for stream trout and panfish (bluegills, sunfish, or crappies). The 1/4 oz. will not only catch larger stream trout, it is also perfectly-sized for smallmouth bass and walleye.
Keep in mind, these light spoons require a nimble rod, equipped with a light action reel spooled with light line; nothing heavier than six-pound-test. Two-pound-test to four-pound-test is better. The Little Wolf is ideal for teaching youngsters the basics of spinner fishing, as they are heavy enough to cast well with light tackle, yet they are small enough to catch a variety of fish.
Three years of development and testing means every Mepps Little Wolf performs perfectly right out of the package.
Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
I headed down to my pond, (about 100'x100'), today and was going to use a spinnerbait but had fished one recently without success so I tied on a Little Wolf 2/5 oz Spoon. I figured it would be as visible as a spinnerbait in the dirty water following a hard rain and not be something the bass had seen before. Second cast I catch a 2 pounder. I should note here that these fish are extremely hard to catch because I fish it so often.Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Smallmouth - Bass, White - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Bowfin - Catfish, Channel - Crappie (White) - Perch, Yellow - Trout, Brown
I spent 160 dollars to get the free hoodie that was offered for orders 150 dollars. First, the hoodie and hat are excellent quality. Absolutely love them. I grew up with a father that taught me Mepps are the best. I moved to an area that wasn't great for fishing without a boat and got big into catfishing on the bottom with live bait. Well, I moved back to Michigan and realized I needed to get back into lure fishing. I thought 150 dollars might be a little extreme, so I decided to catalog the fish I caught to see if the money was worth it. Here's where I'm at a month in fishing exclusively with my Mepps order:Fish Caught: Pickerel
Two 22"plus Chain Pickerel while trolling the 2/5th oz. Little Wolf spoon. One took it deep in the mouth but both Fish were released and swam away.Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (Black) - Perch, Yellow - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brook - Trout, Brown
Have been using Mepps all my life. But, when I first bought a Little Wolf, it was gold. It became one of my favorites. First day I used it while fishing at a small lake near where I live in western New York, I caught 3 largemouth bass,at least 5 bluegill, a couple of crappie, and 4 brook trout in about a hour. I then passed it on to my wife so she could catch some fish, since the live bait she was using had only caught her a couple of bluegill. This gold Little Wolf and others that I have bought this season, have been producing every time.Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Crappie (White) - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Trout, Brown
Great lure! Fishing small lake with 1/8 gold for less than a 1 1/2 hours and caught 4 largemouth bass, 3 brook trout, couple of crappie, and at least a half-dozen bluegills. Have also used in Creek to catch trout. Have always fished with Mepps, but, have a new favorite now.Fish Caught: Pike, Northern
I could not reel the pike in fast enough using an all silver Little Wolf. Seven days in the Canadian wilderness would not have been the same without this gem. I utilized several methods, mostly a simple cast and retrieve, but also trolling. It really didn't seem to matter what I did, as long as it was in the water it drove the pike crazy. I regret that I had only purchased one of these prior to the trip. By the final day, it looked like it had been run over by a truck a few times. Nonetheless, it was still catching fish. I retired the lure, and put it in my hall of fame. My tackle box will never be without one from now on.Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth
Bought two 1/8 oz Mepps Little Wolf spoons, because I am a big fan of spoon fishing and was getting ready for a good trout season. I took this to my local lake to try out. Yesterday, I caught a few bream, and one 11 inch bass, no big deal. Today, I took out a friend to give him a fishing experence, and, this little spoon earned its place in my box. I pulled 8 fish, only one small bream, and the rest bass. The big fish for the day was 2.7 lbs and was taken on the gold and red version of the Little Wolf.Fish Caught: Bass, Largemouth - Bass, Rock - Bass, Smallmouth - Bluegill (Bream, Brim) - Catfish, Channel - Sunfish (shellcracker) - Walleye
About a month ago, I placed an on-line Mepps order for several spinners. Through a fabulous Mepps promo, I received 2 free "Little Wolf" spoons which I used for the first time yesterday; and what a day!Fish Caught: Trout, Lake
